About Parent/Caregiver Consultation

Support for the long haul

Raising a child with a disability or special healthcare needs can be overwhelming.

Parents and caregivers tell me that their first priority is their child -- as it should be. It's normal to wonder whether seeking support for yourself is selfish or just one more thing.

But the extra challenges of raising a child with a disability or special healthcare needs, including autism, ADHD or neurodiversity can add up.

"How can I be in it for the long haul?"

"What will happen to my child?"

"How do I figure out the next step to help my child?"

"I have an upcoming meeting or doctor's appointment for my child -- how do I prepare?"

Professional consultation for yourself, in this most important role, can help you have the energy and strength for the long haul, so that you can be there for your child, your family and yourself.

I'll walk with you on your parenting journey, helping you identify strategies, resources and next steps.

I have a unique background as the parent of a human being with a disability, experience as a parent-educator for parents and families raising children with disabilities, and a special practice focus on families like yours.

We'll identify specific topics to focus on in our time together, such as resource navigation, skill development and support and work together on a plan uniquely suited for your needs.

I offer a complimentary 15 minute consultation. Contact me or call (803) 232-9550.
